How The Gloss Spot Auto Detailing got started
Dominic Pierson started The Gloss Spot Auto Detailing for one simple reason: every detailer he'd ever taken his own car to either gave it a half-effort wash, or charged a small fortune for an "ultimate package" that wasn't actually ultimate. So he opened up shop himself, with three rules:
- Mobile only. We come to you. Period. No drop-offs, no shuttle rides.
- No subcontractors. The owner is on every job. The person who books the work does the work.
- Honest quotes. Real pricing up front. No "well actually it's more" once we're in the driveway.
Those three rules are still our entire business model. We've now done hundreds of details across Champaign, Urbana, Savoy, Mahomet, and the reviews speak for themselves — 90+ verified five-stars on Google.
What we believe about a good detail
A good detail isn't about the cheapest products — it's about the right ones, used carefully. We use professional foams, ceramic coatings, hot-water extractors, and steam tools. We also use time. Most "fast detailers" cut corners on prep. We don't.
